Threw frugality to the wind today and got VIP Hospitality tickets for the wife and I this year. Usually we plant ourselves down at turn 15 but decided to go balls out this year. Pretty decent deal direct with COTA, bag o'sand a ticket for all three days including premium booze and food, pit lane walks and paddock passes covering the whole weekend.

Also have the option to have access to other areas around the track too, so can drop by T15 and others if we're not too sloshed to walk around biggrin

Anyone else planning on going?

Hi,
Don’t post enough here - I’m going. Riding to/from Atlanta on my SDGT. Wife sensibly flying and then riding in from downtown Austin. Bought general admission. Did F1 few years ago and this is my first MotoGp - looking forward to it.
Bound to see you there ..
Cheers

JDD - that's one hell of a ride, how time are you budgeting for that?

I bought a 999S from a guy in Alabama when I first moved over here back in 2008. Had my wife drive us there from Houston (11 hours), spent the night with the guy and his family then rode her back the next day with my wife in tow. From recollection the return trip took 13+ hours due in part to my enduring literally every weather front you can imagine on the way back and that the combo of my 6'3" frame hunkered over the duke in basically a straight line meant more stretching stops that usual.

Not sad I did it though as it was a heck of an experience, though I'll definitely ship next time I buy one from so far away smile
