Time to sell up... what's best?
Discussion
I've barely ridden my current bike in the last few years... a combination of time, not wanting to put miles on it and a hint of self preservation too. I expect I'll keep my gear as would go back to a bike for a commute in future if I needed to, but where best to sell these days?
I expect the WeBuyAnyBike types would bend me over (they need to make a profit after all), but I don't fancy dealing with dreamers, chancers and tyres kickers.
Any better options?

Cubo moto (I think) supposedly offer the best sale or return service in the UK but when I contacted them their customer service put me off a little. Does your local deal not offer a SOR service?
What bike is it out of interest? It will be easier for others to direct the answers if we know

Not the sort of bike to attract the 'best price' or 'innit bruv' crowd so should minimise dealing with idiots, still popular so should sell OK, i'd price it via WBAB and then add a few hundred quid and get it gone, its never a life changing amount of money ...
When my bike was in for its MOT I got chatting to the guy, sole trader, who owned the place. He said if I ever wanted to sell the bike, he'd take 15% but get me what I wanted for it after commission. A while later I gave him the bike, he sold it, gave me what I wanted - absolutely painless!! Chris at Hollygrove motorcycles – near Bournemouth – probably nowhere near you!! http://www.hollygrovemotorcycles.co.uk/
serious answer for the OP.
I stuck mine on an ebay classified, and got a good price from a private trader.
advantage of a classified is it isnt a contract of sale, unlike other ebay ads so when someone gets shirty and threatens you with legal stuff it's all b
ks - I agreed a price subject to quick collection, he then said he'd pick it up in 2 weeks, so I said sod off and sold to someone else. He then got shirty, but ebay old him to bugger off and read the T&Cs

Why would you not want to put miles on your bike?
Isn't that a bit like not shagging your girlfriend much so she's nice & tight for the next bloke who gets up her?
Is it till death do you apart for you then?Isn't that a bit like not shagging your girlfriend much so she's nice & tight for the next bloke who gets up her?

Besides, there are loads of fish in the sea, no need to get hanged up on one particular one.

Never sold a bike through chris but I can thoroughly recommend him. I take all my bikes to him for their MOT’s as he’s a mate of my dads, proper into his bikes and a really nice bloke! Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
