Hey chaps. After 17 years I fancy treating myself to new leathers. Looking for 2 piece, sports suit. One of my mates has a suit from Hideout which would be nice, but I'd be looking at min £1,000. Whilst I don't deny their quality i was hoping to spend £600 to £700.

My current 2 piece is a Dainese suit which has served me well, although I've replaced pretty much every zip! Thinking of opting for Dainese again but spotted a 4SR suit on the MCA website. Not a brand I'm familiar with, but look good in the pics. Anyone had any experience?

Tried on an RST suit, but fit didn't feel right and some of the stuff I've read online is less than complimentary. In the past I've tried an Alpinestars suit but too baggy aound the arse for me - slim build with skinnyish legs. Any other suggestions? I live in Beds and want to try before I buy. I've got some Held gloves that I love, but in terms of leathers I've not spotted.anyone local ish who stocks them.

Bikestop in Stevenage is the obvious place for me to go as they stock lots of gear to compare, but open to other recommendations. Might take a trip up to MCA in Leicester.

I’ve just bought a new 2 piece Alpinestars... tried Dainese, but too slim cut for comfort for my build (36/44). Got a great deal at an Infinity dealer, but it was 27 December and after today’s sunshine I expect the deals are disappearing fast?

I have a Richa Tg1/Tg2 combo, which fits into the price range, its an excellent 2 piece and quite stylish.

They're open to haggling. Have a word with Martin or Fab.

If your old leathers have lasted you 17 years, I'd be tempted to spend that little bit extra and get custom. Over 17 years, £400 extra is £24 a year, worthy investment.

If you’re going to trek up to Leicester then you may aswell take a look at The Moto Central website too, they’re based of the a5/m96 roundabout in Hinckley & they have a pretty big range of stuff. I got kitted out by then when I did my CBT and they were brill, very cheap too and they price match

I've got an RST Tractec 3 2 piece, I think it's great for the money, but it's not been crash tested.

I've also got a Furygan 2 piece, which is really very nice, but sizing is weird, so would need trying on. Again, not crash tested, but lovely quality.

Agree.

I have the Raptor 2 piece and the quality, fit and comfort is perfect for me. As cnmotorsport said though, they do have weird sizing so you may find yourself going up at least 1, if not 2 sizes to what you would normally wear.

If you're local to Bike Stop, certainly worth a look.

Good selection and happy to help, coffee isn't bad either.

I have just got the Halvassons Celtic jacket and dying with the Dede trousers. They are great so far and good for all season use.

If you don’t mind the branding take a look at Triumph leathers - the quality is really excellent for the price. The plain black set I bought are waterproof (at least for a couple of hours) and heat reflective - great for touring.
