I'm going to Mallorca at the end of March for a long weekend. I was thinking of hiring a bike for a day as I've heard there are some fun roads and good views. Could anyone recommend a route please or even just some good sections which I can stitch together?

Any route not used by the local residents?

My outstanding memory of driving in Mallorca was witnessing the worst example of driving yet. Was following two white van drivers, both being driven quickly where guy behind tries to overtake the one in front as they approach a blind, 90 degree lefthand bend (on a road just about wide enough for two cars). Fortunately there was nothing coming the other way...

More seriously, one time we went to Mallorca by ferry. Arrived in Palma from Barcelona around 6 am and couldn't get into our villa in Puerto Pollenca until 4 pm so we decided to take the scenic route. Basically you can follow a costal road from Palma, going clockwise through Magaluf/Palma Nova then up the West coast through Deia all the way to Pollenca. Some great views and some really twisty roads. Would have been much better on bikes as not that easy to overtake in cars (unless you like the Russian Roulette approach I witnessed!)

Ma10. Andraxt to Pollensa is a great road. It follows the contours of the mountains and will take you over the Puig Major, the highest mountain on the island. March will be into cycling season so be aware of that plus Mallorcan roads are super slippery in the wet. If the sun is shining you’ll have a great time.

Cycled it, driven, and ridden it. Awesome.

I've also rode the MA10... fabulous road. I rented a Moto Guzzi V7 from Can Picafort, rode to Cap Formentor then headed for the MA10.

Would love to do it again.

By the way, do yourself a favour and do two days on bikes instead of one!

Had a V7 too, but from these guys (Easter 2017) :

They even brought it to our hotel, and picked it up again. Recommended.

I used to live there, and there are some stunning roads, up beyond Alcudia / formentor, and the other way, out past Arta.

Seconded. Would reiterate the issue with the odd wet corner though where the sun can't get to the dew on the roads. Take extra care early morning.
