Hi all,

Starting to lose my shizz with my bike trying to get the last downpipe nut off....even to the extent I'm considering breaking the bike in rage lol.

Basically the whole thing is spinning in the head including the stud.

Any tips?

Dremel too big to fit!

Can you get a couple of nuts on the stud and then pry it out whilst turning it with a socket / impact driver / drill?

Nut was about half way off.... can't do it back up either now the whole thing spins.

Made the mistake of putting a different sized nut on as well the last time I took it off.... apparently that messes it up even more lol

Can you pry it at all with something whist turning it?

Maybe even some long nose pilers to put some pressure on it whilst you spin it?

Try lots of lube in there and keep it straight if possible.

Dremel with a cutting disk, cut the nut in half to get the pipes off then you can sort the stud after.

Gave the ol lube a go before but haven't tried double teaming it yet lmao.

I'll see if I can get a volunteer and give that a try!

Dremel won't fit, gap between the pipes is too narrow frown

If the stud is spinning and not coming out the threads must be fooked so can you not just pry the stud out? Slide hammer onto the stud & nut combo you have?

yep, or wrap safety wire around the nut and use a long bar through the wire to prise it off. Watch yer knuckles.

It's obviously fked now anyway, so just get in there with a cold chisel and split it.

if it's the last nut/stud can you not use some leverage with the exhaust it's self either by pulling/levering while turning the stud. The stud thread is knackered anyway and will need helicoiling so force seems your only option.

Edit before the "I know everythings" turn up. I'm not suggesting enough force to break or damage anything, just enough force to help ease the nut/stud from behind.
