Doesn’t look good for MotoE, a huge fire seems to have taken out all the bikes and all the equipment.

Real shame if true, I was really looking forward to this series.

Whilst I did initially laugh a little, I then thought about it some more. It means a lot of riders will be missing out on huge media exposure. And even if they're heavy beasts, racing is racing.

Not good.

As much as electric still seems alien for bikes its heartbreaking for all those involved, I hope this gets sorted and they can get back on track, even if they do miss the first round deadline, as someone already said, racing is racing and some of this tech will be relevant in years to come.

When, not if, the tech gets affordable & the batteries become light & quick to charge, I will be buying an electric bike.

Don't hold you breath then. You will bare the development costs and increased profits in the name of saving the planet.

I think it's awful, not least as a lot of people's plans, hopes and hard work went up with the bikes.

Contrary to most 'petrol' heads, I love the idea of seeing these bikes evolve. I wasn't around 110 years ago to see petrol bikes go from barely able to complete a lap of a course, but this was our chance to see proper development in real time.

Sad times.

It will certainly keep you warm on the cold day, without the need for heated grips!

Ironically, probably more of a fire risk!

It is a worry, on IOM at the TT last year, an E bike was destroyed by fire and rest of the paddock was lucky as it is all a bit tight.
They need to be looking a the safety of these things, i think as they push for more power, volts and life, with minimal packaging for weight reasons, it's not as safe as it might like to be.

Fire may be unconnected to them being E-bikes, but I suspect there is a connection at the moment!

Those batteries (Lithium polymer) if not balanced and charged properly are ticking time bombs. In the RC world they need to be charged in fire proof bags.

Electric cars destroy petrol now. I recently watched the outright record set my Loeb has been smashed by over 10 seconds on Pine Peaks by an electric car (Audi)

Due to weight I think electric bikes have some way to go to be good old petrol !
