Every year my wife goes away with friends for a weeks surfing. The thing is I don’t surf but I get to tag along on account of her being way wife and all that. Fortunately we have a van that takes the wife’s surf board but more importantly it also takes my bike. So this years trip is to the Gower peninsula just west of Swansea and I’m looking for recommendations for good roads and places to go. TIA

I don't know gower very well, but for slow bimbling alogg surrounded by stunning scenery then it's great. About 30 mins will see you in the black mountains, still stunning scenery but some good roads.

Most of the 'good' roads (and it's small remember) on the actual Gower are now 40mph - there's not a lot of enforcement but there is a reason: too many people hitting livestock on the unfenced roads and patience was lost. So be careful and remember if you're staying somewhere surfy (i.e. at the end) it'll take you longer than you think to get to e.g. the Beacons or Black Mountain.
