if you fit a non standard tyre size eg 190/55 instead of a 190/50 will that pass or fail an mot?

Only fail if it fouls anywhere or is below minimum tread depth.

It won't be noticed otherwise

Assuming of course the sizes match across the axle.

And the speedometer reads correctly at 30 mph

Across the axle? unless its a 3 wheeler like a MP3 or a Niken (which won't be eligible for a test for at least 2 years)

And the speedo at 30mph? How is that tested then?
