Beautiful piece of kit, no question about it.

Between this and potentially upcoming Daytona 765, I pick Daytona.

Shame most of us couldn't have both, they both sound like great machines.

Shame they couldn't give it an inline four or even a mini V4.

I’m very interested. I did order the Norton Superlight but cancelled when we decided to move to New Zealand. If this gets sold in New Zealand I will be tempted.

Why the hell would you want an in-line 4?!?!

Maybe as they are just about the ideal layout for a fast road bike? Look at bikes such as the BMW S1000RR, incredibly compact engine, in fact my own 2017 'blade has a lovely small engine for it's 190 bhp output.
V4 engines are more complicated, more expensive to make and harder to fit in a bike frame.
But sound lush i have to admit. I had a Tuono V4 and it sounded amazing.

A V4 will be more compact than an IL4 surely?

And as you say, V4's sound amazing.

Because I like then and smaller IL4's that rev to the high heavens are fantastic. I'm not fussed about twins for the most part.

Lucky for you there are already lots of super sports 600s with IL4 (well at least lots of secondhand bikes as the market has collapsed for new ones).

For a straight 4, you'd head east for one of the remaining bikes. Aprillia would be pissing into the wind trying to beat the Japs in their area and the development costs would be absurd for such a short run bike. A 650 lightweight twin (SV650R?), however, would blow my skirt right up.
