My old Gpz won't start, I've had it on a battery conditioner through the winter and it's reading 12.4 volts.

This might just be too little juice to power everything so I thought I'd hook it up to a car battery - I've read that it is safe but is it!

So, my question is should I jump or not?

Starting from a car battery will be fine, no different to starting from it's own battery - assuming the car is not running then a 12v battery is a 12v battery regardless of how big it is.

In fact the bigger the reserve on the battery the better, too small (or undercharged) can suffer too much voltage drop which can cause problems.

P.S, thought this might have been a suicide post.

I'd jumped many a bike from a car battery. To the point I've made my own little jump lead adaptors for them!

Perfectly safe, just don't start the car and you'll be fine!

Thanks for your input Guys.

The bu****r turned over but didn't fire up. Plus the digital display went a bit wild (eighties tech!) between my attempts to get the old girl going.

So it looks like a trip to the motorcycle hospital for a bit of TLC!
