By 3 s, 2 scooters, pushed it away in the usual style. Brand new in February. I really cant go into any other detail on public forum or answer any questions whatsoever. But just feel the need to post. I feel physically sick.

Gutted for you mate. I did think of one of those Hondas last year but got a TMAX.

The thievery and sky rocketing insurance rates destroyed riding for me, and I have been riding since the late 70s.

Took ages to sell the Tmax as no one wants them due to the moped gangs. Sold for a big loss in the end and I now have my much abused Vespa, returned to me after a year with a moped gang.

It goes, looks like shoite and is insured 3rd party only. I am surprised to see it every day but if it goes I won't be bothered.

Such a shame. Biking was about freedom but it's a nightmare in London and no fun to have to cover it in chains and disc locks.

On most short trips it's quicker to take the car what with the scooter unlocking malarkey.

Once again, sorry it's happened to you. Hope the insurance doesn't dick you around.

Absolute nightmare. Every time I think of trading in my 2012 plate SH125i stories like this just make me stop. I wonder how the showroom dealers out there are surviving sales must be down significantly?

I tell you it’s fking ridiculous. Organised crime in London (probably elsewhere too) is rife. I’m going to lose £1013 insurance policy + the excess £400 + reduced value compared with new (no GAP). For 3 months riding this scooter

For anyone that doesn’t know I previously had a Yamaha t-max stolen too. So it is basically impossible to have a big scooter in Greater London (I’m basically in leafy Harrow, not inner London). It’s preposterous.

And the bike manufacturers are doing fk all about it too. It’s one big roundabout with everyone jerking themselves off at our expense.

Absolute s

They’re the new T-Max though - was behind one of them (obviously nicked) last week, pushing a white supersports bike via foot along the pavements of Jamaica road/Deptford

They caught the guy who had my Vespa for about a year. He'd been using it to commit more robberies.

He got a community order and has to pay me £15. Still not seen that though.

If you can cope with the looks, SH300's are the way forward.... Narrow, so fast in traffic, rapid in town and okay out of town... and (from my experience) largely invisible to the 'ped thieves (famous last words)

Yeah I might get an old battered one if I can still afford insurance. No ones going to want to touch me

That suxs

Still I am looking forward to Treason May making a comment about the free for all theft of bikes in london is nothing to do with the Tories decimating police numbers and everything to do with Schools not teaching students that stealing is wrong and not to be naughty boys and girls.

Have you not been paying attention? Unless you're prepared to collect the bike yourself, these are utterly pointless.

Easy to make your own as well if you're of that mindset.

I just would not own a bike inside the M25 now certainly not in the Greater London region. As you say it's just unchecked and rife, police don't even bother anymore too busy on Facebook getting easy jobs. Can't blame them they simply don't have the numbers and if they try Hardline tactics the liberal bleeding hearts have a group wk on how it's not fair to poor thieves to be hurt.

So you either move (not always viable) or lump it and either give up bikes or buy a stter and hope it stays put.

Overdramatic or what! I live in London, I have a bike, two doors down, has a bike, another one down has a bike, some Brazilian guys live a bit further down 4 scooters parked on the street.

You not heard? https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/london-moped...

They were rumbled in my area of London.

Someone phoned it in, hidden in some bushes. Police phoned me, I went and got it. Battery was disconnected but no damage other than st steering lock which has been broken, looks like part of the headstock. What fking manufacturer would use aluminium for something like that? A disgrace.

Big up police!
