After months of prevarication I’ve finally chopped in the R9T for a New VStrom XT

The R9T was a lovely thing but realistically too small and no protection for longer rides so got limited use as much as I loved it

The VStrom is no thing of beauty but after a long test ride I decided I’d get more use from this type of bike (+ I’m not getting any younger) and I’m lucky enough to have a mint old R1 for occasional use too, so bike bought

I did try a GS and loved it but silly money for new
Tried an XR wasn’t so keen
Tried a Versys and ok but a lot more money
VStrom for £10k was a no brainier for me, not everyone’s cup of tea I know and I was surprised how good it actually is, now to pile some miles on, oh and change that fugly exhaust

Gratuitous pic biggrin

My 2014 desert edition. 20,000 trouble free miles. I have a brand new seat if you need it any taller? It’s black and grey. They do 3 seat heights! Enjoy the new bike.

Looks good!

I bought mine on the same basis. It’s not quite as good as the water cooled GS, but it’s not far off. 90% of the GS for 50% of the money.

I love mine. 3 years and 20,000 miles later and it’s better than ever. I’ve had other bikes in and out of the garage in that time but this is here for good.

Had that on mine. Good quality, fair price and no need for mapping. Nice deep burble and not obnoxious.
