I bought my MT10 secondhand with the official accessory knuckle guards fitted. They are not really compatible with my screen so I've removed the them. Unfortunately I don't have the original bar ends that the knuckle guard bar ends replaced.

I need to get some bar ends and am wondering whether the originals will be heavier than any aftermarket ones and therefore better at stopping vibrations? They seem pretty expensive in the UK (will check with the Yamaha dealer tomorrow) and would certainly like some clean ones given the great condition of the rest of the bike.

Any thoughts, experience, recommendations?

Many thanks,

Jon

Heavy bar ends certainly help attenuate the vibrations, OEM might attach to threaded inserts welded into the bars making fitting non standard ones more complicated.

If they’re really expensive I’d buy used ones and spray them if needed.

Many thanks

They are just shy of £50 a pair from Yamaha. I found they are shared with a large number of Yamaha bikes and a decent looking original pair were £20 delivered from ebay so I've gone with that option.
