Anyone who wears a polite vest on a bike needs a good old fashioned punch in the fking mouth, I generally ask anyone I see wearing them if they failed the entrance exam for the police force biggrin

What’s cock. As if the “offence” dressing like he did wasn’t bad enough, he was then stupid enough to complain to the Police for unfair treatment who then rightly charged him with being a knob. Deserves everything he got.

He's definitely a knob, but it sounds like he got a st deal of it when convicted- contact not renewed, kicked out of his house by the landlord. Sounds a bit much for a very minor offence.

I had some sympathy until the "everything was fine until he complained like a little bh" part.

Assuming it's true and they're linked. Why would a landlord care or even know? The contract could have been at it's end or he might have been deemed unsatisfactory. We've only his word they are linked.

Correlation Vs causation and all that....

Saw a guy with one of those jackets on purposely make his way through a red light and forcing cars to stop outside Southfields tube station yesterday.

Then tore up the hill at a rate of knots in the pouring rain.

He was on one of those Honda off road maxi scoots so I presumed it was nicked.

Maybe the scrotes now use the jackets to make people think they are cops.

Undeniably a knob for wearing one... but I struggle to see why it would result in all the other repercussions.

Bet he wishes he kept his mouth shut now though!

What a wker!
I keep seeing the polite vests - they appear to be getting more popular if anything. Is the type of bike anything to do with it? I don't recall seeing a sportsbike rider wearing one, but I've seen an awful lot of bearded, flip-lid, BMW GS riders sporting them.....

Maybe he told him? Some rental contracts require it, I know ours have in the past.

I passed a sports bike on the A3 near Guildford last week - rider was in normal attire, but the bike was a green and black sporty thing and had 'Police' written fairly discreetly on the side. A local Guildford number plate.

Must have been Police - I can't find any pics of it online.

I wondered why the MCN article was so carefully and impartially written, then I read;

"Following his appeal, Emanuel took out a libel case against the newspapers and websites he says defamed him, which was later settled out of court."

There's a few life lessons here for Darren that I would hope most would have known by the time they reach forty seven.

I'm not a motorbiker - but I ride a bike without a motor (although I sometimes would appreciate a motor when I'm cream-crackered and 40 miles from home) biggrin...... Anyway. I see a fair number of riders on horses using similar vests, and when in Northumberland a couple of years ago there was a feature on the local TV urging cyclists to use such vests. That feature annoyed me (as do the vests), because all road users should be diligent, irresspective of what others are wearing! What next, flashing lights on pedestrians heads so they are 'visible' to those too lazy to look!
