Dealer service 1 - DIY 1
Discussion
Keeping score now.
My main dealer service today revealed my diy replacement clutch lever was loose because i'd not transferred over the brass bush. Oops fair enough.
But my hot running problem had been diagnosed as either failing rad cap, followed by the fan not running (I'm sure it has been spinning). On getting it home, I drained down the coolant, undid the radiator, and oh, there's the problem..the fan had not been plugged back in after they checked the valves.
So despite a new rad cap my bike was running ridiculously hot on the way home - I had to stop 3 times as it reached max, and cooled the rad down with a 2 litre bottle of mineral water (I like to treat the bike occasionally).
Therefore I make the score one all.
(I've not counted the fact that the quote for clearances then had £35 added for new gaskets... I would have agreed to their use but not sure why they were not predicted in the quote. Hey ho.)
