So I just bought a new battery for the other half's bike, and I didn't see in the small print but according to some new law they won't supply battery acid with it and you can't even get it from Halfords any more for the same reason!

So now I have a useless dry battery sitting here and we still can't use the bike as I have to find somewhere to buy acid.!

Such a PITA as I ordered it on next day delivery as we were supposed to go out on it tonight rolleyes

Any recommendations or can I use the acid out of the old battery?

I'd try a friendly car or bike garage that isn't halfords and see if they can fill it for you for a few quid. I wouldn't reuse the old acid in the new battery.

Otherwise just send it back for a return saying it was the wrong one. I thought most mail order battery sellers just sent the batteries filled now.

Last time I bought a battery that didn't arrive pre-filled, it came from France and was still £5 cheaper than one from the UK.

It’s all a bit daft really. You can’t send a battery with separate acid because of the law and you can’t send one filled because the couriers don’t like it.

Dude, Brexit is blessing for UK!
I am not even British and do not live in UK.
Do you want people like *let's hire McKinsey" var der Leyen, "where is my booze" Juncker or "ex-punk green" Ska Keller run you, are you raving mad?

Besides, spend a few more quid and get a Li-Po battery, no acid, lighter, lives longer.

Don't take this the wrong way,but you have checked it's not been pre-filled?

No its definitely dry, and after it arrived I rechecked the listing and down the bottom in the small print it does say supplied without acid. Lesson learnt though I will buy sealed batteries from now on

Halfords stock Yuasa too, and their mark up is less than some bike dealers.

I did look there first but they stocked pretty much everything except the size we needed. I will take it to some garages today and see if they will fill it for me.
