Hi all, im looking for a second hand set of one piece leathers to use on track days. But am unsure of what size to buy. Having never owned leathers before im not sure how they are supposed to fit. Ive tried a size 44 jacket on before and it was very snug so dread to think how tight a one peice would be! I am 6 foot 1 and weigh 14.5 stone. I was thinking a size 46 or 48.
Anyone got any advice? Thnaks in advance.

The only way to know is to try them on unfortunately, you should be able to find some locally on ebay I'd imagine, there are other brands other than RST available, I managed to get some brand new ones last night for 1/4 of the new cost, I had to travel 50 miles but after buying used ones online previously and then finding them too small it was worth the trip.

46 should be ok for you as you are around the same height/weight as me but you never know, also make sure you take your back protector whilst trying them on.

Thanks for the advice. I hadn't even thought about a back protector to be honest. Is there any that are recommended or are they OK as long as they are CE approved?

I had a size 54 alpinestars one piece suit and then bought a 54 RST one piece and it was far too tight, so depends on what brand you wear from what I’ve experienced.

Sportsbikeshop have free delivery/returns so always worth trying them to gauge a size, or try somewhere local

I’m 6 foot weigh 15 stone and wear an RST one piece. Size 48 UK / 58 Euro

Bear the last bit in mind around sizing.

All leathers are tricky to fit without trying them on. I really struggle getting into my Alpinestars suit that’s the same size, especially around the legs and the leather doesn’t seem to want to break in as easily.

You would be far better off trying some different suits and brands on to get a feel for what fits. As sold take your back protector with you when buying and expect i]the suit to be quite stiff for a while until it breaks in. If you buy one that’s too big then it’ll feel pretty stupid in a few weeks when the leather has softened up and it’s broken in. Ditto if it’s too small, only in reverse.
