Average speed of 121.91 mph around IOM TT Course is really impressive for an Electric Bike. Shame it only lasts for one lap:

There's the dilemma - chose between range or speed. Look at the size of the battery pack on this Suzuki Leafy Savage electric bike, just to achieve 100 miles of slow speed city riding:

Electric future for motorcycling or go extinct?

I know people in London are already saying there aren't enough charging points..especially now the electric cabs are out. Someone was telling me about their i3, the batteries need replacing after 5 yrs at a cost of £2800, I think battery technology has to improve a huge amount if they want to be anything other than a novelty.

It will happen, and it will bring unbelievable performance.

It’s trickier for bikes than it is in cars, as they size of the battery pack is as significant a factor as the weight.

It has happened - 1/4 mile in just 6.94 secs

Precisely - how is decent range achievable for a bike?

Surely the speed of an electric vehicle is irrelevant? Especially given the future regarding speed limiters etc. looking at Tesla's range and charge time they don't seem that good and they are better than their competitors, at best an electric bike may replace a scooter as a commuter, but then they're heavy. If bike manufacturers released a bike with a petrol engine and the practicalities and performance of an electric bike they wouldn't sell any.

I’ve got my eye on option ‘C’ - ICE vehicles are banned and we’re all being shipped around in our driverless pods, powered by as yet unknown technology but there exists an underground moment of renegades who have managed to hide away their outlawed old-tech machines and after darkness falls and night vision, sonar and radar takes over for the masses, we’ll be brimming our tanks with home-brew fuel in a secret sub-basement and planning our rebellious ride-out route in the hope of avoiding law enforcement and being home safe before sunrise...

Hydrogen is the way forward due to the destructive mining of the Boron required for batteries and recycling a few years down the line.

Am I right in thinking Hydrogen is cheap? If so it won't happen smile Blimey! A quick google reveals it's more expensive than petrol! Hydrogen could be the answer then..

Yep it’s ideal, steaming fossil fuel gas to create hydrogen at a net energy loss to replace using fossil fuels

Brilliant

I reckon high speed internet is the answer..we can all ride/drive how we like in a virtual world, and just have Johnny cabs for transport.
