I use a Stanley to open boxes for work, not a 6 inch blade. I don't carry it about outside either.

TBH I think he's got off very lightly.

Wish they could strip him of his title tbh.
Yes we all make some poor decisions , but how at any point would you think it was acceptable to do what is stated in the report.
He has thrown away such a golden opportunity and talent.

Seems like people have high expectations of the bloke merely because he races bikes. No logic there.

I think it’s more that people have high expectations of someone with undeniable talent to act like a normal human being, not like some chavvy little scrote

Playing devil's advocate only, and I'm not excusing it, but I've met plenty of 60-somethings that deserved a good hiding, and there's clearly more to this story.

As for the knife, well, it is what it is. It's perfectly feasible he had no intent to use it, which would seem to be reinforced by the fact he didn't. Again not excusing it, but most kids carry these things through fear, not because they're out to murder folk. The sentencing would seem to reflect this.

I'd probably agree, but it's "a bit council" for sure.

"Don't be a violent criminal" isn't a high expectation, it's the CBT of social responsibility...
