Thoughts on the above please?

Looks like I’m going to get some M2M/bespoke leathers, so can have what I please.

I want the convenience of two-piece leathers, but how much worse are they compared to one-piece in the event of a significant tumble, everything else being equal?

Would I be better off getting a one-piece suit, but with braces so as not to be too much of a nuisance when wondering about with the top off?

I only ever wear mine for riding on track, though I’d like to retain the option of pairing the leather jacket with jeans if I ever fancied it.

Thanks

Jazoli

I can't see there being a lot of difference to be honest, one piece leathers are much more comfortable to wear on the bike but an utter pain off it when you want to cool down.

I've a two piece, I can count on one hand the amount of times I've actually worn it.

Full zip 2 piece. Comfortable and convenient protection.

... and I'd recommend not crashing in either!

I’d go one piece. If you are only using it on track get a well vented suit and wear an under layer for cold if you ever need to.

As you say, if you only wear them for track riding I'd stick to one piece and if your budget allows get an air bag system too.

I had an off at Brands wearing a top of the range full zip dainese two piece leather combo and although they didn't completely part most of the zip was ripped out of the pants.

The elasticated fabric that the zip is stitched to also got so hot it burnt through my base layer and welded itself to my stomach.

As others have already said. If it’s track use then get a one piece.

Also two piece suits are made with two different jacket designs / lengths. The more racetrack orientated ones have a shorter jacket that is too short for separate jacket use.

The more road going two piece leathers have a longer jacket and have the joining zip more vulnerable lower on your hips but the jacket is good for use with jeans.

Track use one piece.

Two piece are convenient when out on the road and wanting to take the jacket off without getting arrested for losing your trousers too. However, they’re also a compromise. The stretchy panel between jacket and bottoms is not as good as on a one piece and so will feel more restrictive when riding, especially on track.

As long as you keep your wondering to when you're not on the bike, you'll be fine in either. At speed on a motorcycle is no place for your mind to be wandering while you wonder!

Presumably you wear your flouro one piece to your place of work as a Christmas Cracker joke writer though?

I've crashed in everything from board shorts and sunglasses to MW race leathers full of armour, don't worry about it, it just always hurts, sometimes more, sometimes less smile

To highjack slightly, is it ok to wear 2-piece articles separately or is the cut/length only designed to work together?

I want a leather jacket and may as well get a 2 piece as long as the jacket alone could be worn with jeans.

Cheers

I've seen a couple of accidents on track in 2 piece leathers where the zip has pulled apart leaving some exposed skin.
They were both fairly oldish leathers, and in one case, the zip looked like it hadn't been either secured or the slide had pulled it open, and the other it just split
Either way, if you're doing a load of track riding, it's one piece all the way.

Depends - many track orientated leathers have a jacket cut quite short, so really are 2 piece solely for convenience of taking the jacket off when stopped

You may find some touring leathers with a longer cut jacket designed to be worn separate. Or some manufacturers have jacket/jean/trouser combos designed for road use that zip together.
