New Street Triple RS

I can't see another 110cc increase in the current 1050 engine tbh. There isn't enough distance between the cylinders to increase the bore by an appreciable amount which leaves stroking the engine as the only other option. The engine is already running a piston speed of 24 m/s at peak revs iirc so maybe an all new engine?Grindle said:
Nice but for me an awful lot of money. I know you can't really do the new-used thing but what that money gets me 2 years old floats my boat a lot more. Nice bike though.
I agree with what you say, one can find great deals on second hand market.I would not buy a new Street RS or Speed RS, I have seen barely used ones for thousands cheaper, some people have money to switch bikes every season, and I am grateful to them for that.
I would just sit and wait until there are deals, it may take a year but I am not in a hurry.

If Triumph do go down the 1160/new engine design route they will virtually give the last of the 1050 engined bikes away with huge discounts. They were selling the last of the 955 Daytonas with £1800 off list price back in 2006 just to get rid of them.
One of my lot who has a '19 1050RS has already put his name down for the 1160. He hasn't been told much about it either though yetI haven't long bought one, had discounts, lot of free bits thrown in. Had a feeling the new one wasn't far away and it's about where I expected it to be. Euro5 emissions restricting even more, different map to keep similar output and it's apparently gained about 8kg. It's essentially a facelift so I'm not too bothered. The only thing I'd like is cruise control. If it has it I'm sure it could be retrofitted.

Cruise and up / down QS should be standard at that price point IMO. It'd be nice if it had new dash graphics too as the originals were s

Which one is gaining 8 kg?

The Street Triple according to Bennett's so we'll see if that's true. 0.2bhp increase too
A cat for new regs? Is it Euro 5?But 8 kg is ridiculous amount of weight, whole point of Street Triple is then lost.
8kg does seem like quite a lot though, Yamaha only added 1kg to the R1/R1M for EU5 setup.
