Just to say that I'm planning to tackle my favourite bike road this weekend for the first time this year. If there's a better route for two wheels in Southern England I've yet to find it.

A look at the Multimap reference gives some clues, fast bits, slow bits, gradients, spectacular scenery and fantastic beach at the other end.

Hopefully I won't now find that the local councils have been busy and turned it into numpty paradise over the winter...

Completely irrelevant to this thread, but I spent many a happy childhood holiday at Woolacombe, the huge beach, playing in the massive rock pools.... <repeat to fade>
