i saw this Honda Fireblade, brand spanking new but had the exhaust tucked under the bike hidden in the body work like the ducatis.

i cant find anything about it.

but did find this link which is pretty much what i saw but the bike was red and looked full road worthy (not a racing bike)

nope and nope- the top one has the exhaust under the seat and the second one has the exhaust under the bike but still has a can, the one i saw was like the white one in the picture.

weird!!!!

i just remember thinking wow that is sick and when i got to work to my computer none of the Honda range seem to match apart from that 2017 concept picture.

So you are saying it had a single side swing arm too then?

Never mind the exhaust. If it was stickered up as a Fireblade and looked brand new with a single side swing arm it should have been wearing a unicorn too.

I had one on my HRC Blade back in the day and yeah, st is a polite way to put it...
Quality was so bad you could stop and watch it rust away. You'd think it was made from the finest Chinesium but apparently the Americans can do shoddy to equal crapness.

It ran like shyte and was sold tout suite and replaced with an Arati ti system which was a vast improvement.
If you want one then look at getting it coated somehow to inhibit the rusting and you'll need a power commander or similar to sort out the fuelling issues.
But other than for the aesthetics I can't really recommend one.

I can imagine a four cylinder, rev-hungry bike like the 'blade running very badly on an exhaust can that short. I was always under the impression that these very cut-down exhausts were a bit crap for four cylinder bikes, something to do with longer, tuned silencers being tuned to the exhaust gas pulses or something.

done all the research and unfortunately you are all right.

looks amazing but is totally crap.
plus actually reduces power.

but modern exhausts are so ugly these days ( i know i know all the emissions crap is in the can these days and not the engine so aftermarket is way to go. but not if its going to make the bike worse (but looks better)
