I have a 2005 City X XB9, had it 10 years, doesn't do much mileage these days as family life has taken over.
As a bike I love it, not blisteringly fast, but quick enough and easy to throw round the corners, I have a remus exhaust on it so makes a decent noise.
Its a tall bike, I'm 6'2" and I'm on tip toes, a lot of people fit the lower seat option.
Overall always makes me smile taking it out, its interesting when compared to the mainstream brands and just has more character.

not exactly high tech engine, its harley evolution motor with some trick bits.
Means parts are pretty easily available and should be pretty reliable.
They're different, a big lumpty torque motor in a sporty frame. I have an XR 1200, pretty close engine wise but still a steel tubular frame and its goes well enough for what it is, Buell will make a bit more power and be considerably lighter.

I have a pal who's very into them. Appears to be like a "classic" in that it makes a nice second bike for someone who likes to tinker. He's always doing something to his and its always needing something. Simple enough to work on but you have to keep on top of them for reliability. He's involved with the Buell owners club and most of them appear to have Aprilia/KTMs as their main bikes with a Buell tucked away for high days

and some models carry the oil in the swinging arm and the fuel in the frame.
Yes, which is great until the swingarm cracks from shyte welding and the oil drios onto the rear tyre.....Ask me how I know and how I got my $$$ returned.
Except for the older models they are without exception the most awful pile of shyte made. Typically American, typically crap engineering.

Which model? For info www.ukbeg.com
fireboltI'd have another Buell, but an earlier lightning, tube framed version.

I've had a tuber for about 8 years now. They're pretty crap, but you can make them very good. I've done loads to mine over the years.
I rode it from Mallorca to Isle of Man in 2015 for the classic TT, and rode it back. All I needed to do to it in 1800 miles trip was add half a liter of oil, so if you like tinkering, they make a very good bike.
