Slip on exhausts - fitting?
Discussion
Possible numpty question.
Do you need to use exhaust paste for assembly sometimes?
I know sometimes you use a gasket and the factory exhaust has one but the link pipe is too snug a fit for any gasket but still blows when seated square and clamped up.
In my case the exhaust can end is 52mm internal and the link pipe is 51mm external - the other end is a bit tighter than that but slides on without bother.
It all clamps down well enough but blows through the grooves. A little bit wouldn't bother me but it seems like a lot.
Thanks.
