That's cos new one's out and that's the old model. Not a bad bit of kit, but I just found it excessively "big" feeling.

Well, I've just bought one. with track and performance packs.

Can't see the new one being 50% better. Its less than some are asking for 2016's.

Exhaust isn't offensive. I'll go for an SC project or Arrrow 'long' can possibly at some point.

Some 'man maths' says that over 2 years, I reckon i'll loose about £1500.

Subjective. The old bike was very old electronically. The new one has some difficult emissions targets to deal with which probably do the same to rideability as when KTM moved from carbs to FI. Where and how you use it will determine whether it is worth it.

"Old" one is still an awesome bike though. I didn't enjoy it as it was too big and opted for the Aprilia instead, but it was still an enormously capable machine and depending where you use it would be whether it was too big or not.

if the tuono was the same price, i'd have had the tuono. however even with discount's it'd be a few K more.

Both were within budget, so I just picked the one that suited me most. KTM was cheaper, and if it'd suited me I probably would still have it, the Aprilia was fking ruinous. 20mpg and £1000 services every two years! It ended up drawing attention to itself as an expenditure so I binned it off for something more sensible for what I use it for.

I've had my eye on the Super Duke R now for about a year, I test rode one last year and it was amazing, I also took the Tuono out as well and I would loose my licence on that thing! was just a bit small for me as well which leans me towards the KTM.

The KTM price has sat around £11k for a while now, cheap bike for what you actually get.

Any owner KTM Super Duke R Pictures about?

They've only just gone to 11k.

From what I was told, there's about 18 of them in the UK that have been spread around the dealer network.

I've followed the price for quite a while now the bike has been £11k for about 2 months a drop of £500 depending on the dealers I've been watching, kestrel KTM seem to always be good for deals (no affiliation)

The new 2020 KTM looks great so I'm going to wait a bit longer to see what happens with pricing, I'm not to fussed about brand new but wouldn't buy anything pre 67 plate

KTM always heavily discount this time of year. They were doing the Super Duke GT for £11k at the end of 2017.

The 790 Adventures at £9.5k look tempting.

I've been waffling on about these for ages now, with the hope of getting one next year, saw this offer and started to do some man maths but after my bikes were nicked earlier this year cheapest insurance quotes I've had have been over £900 and I'm not paying that.

Certainly a cracking deal!

I was trying to remember when that was. Looking at prices, loosing about £750 a year seems right! Not bad really

You shouldn't be to far out there depending on condition and mileage although 2 years is getting close to the 3 year cycle for the new bike.
I purchased a mk1 new at 11k at the end of its cycle.

I purchased a mk2 a year later, I gave the dealer my mk1 back to sell on sale or return , they eventually returned me 9.5k a few months later .
I gave it to the dealer to sell because trying to sell a second hand bike at anything above 9k ( unless its collectable) is sole destroying , every and his dog need pcp or finance so consider that as a factor.

I will be buying the new 2020 when it arrives but I need to chill out and let the old stock disappear and the dust settle, given my self restraint I don't hold out much hope frown
If anyone thinks these prices happen every winter from ktm you are wrong, its just to make room for the new models at the end of there 3 year cycle .

I think they happen every year because even during their 3 year cycles they get colour updates and other minor changes. General rule is don’t pay full rrp for a ktm as you’ll lose out big time unless you’re keeping it for about 5 years until everyone has forgotten about the cheap deals
