Yamaha Tenere 700
Discussion
I ordered one at the end of July to get the early bird discount (£300 if I remember correctly). They told me September. After a long period of radio silence they sent me an invoice at the end of October saying it was ready to collect. I was slightly surprised as I had indicated I wanted to talk about accessories like centre stand, heated grips and so on but had had no contact.
Anyway, in the meantime I'd found a good end of year discount on a Triumph Scrambler 1200 and went for that instead (looks, quality of components etc - if I was likely to do much off road I would have stuck with the Ten700). Lost the £100 initial deposit which was a bit annoying as the Tenere certainly hadn't been prepared for me.
Anyway, for the price it looks like a good prospect but I reckon my order in Championship White probably sold easily but there must be a few floating around the dealer network by now.

I’ll be interested to see if anyone in here has bought one of these, as I was quite seriously thinking about one next year.
Only trouble is that at £8400 which was the initial price, they looked like great value. Now they’ve gone up to £9k for 2020 less so, especially compared to the base model Tiger 900.

The (off Road) group I ride with have gone for the T700 in a big way. I think 5 now have one. Everyone loves it - great all rounder, does everything off and in road. Super smooth power delivery even from right down the rev range. I'm sticking with my big Africa Twin tho, the one downside to the T700 for me is that it sounds super bland.
Oh, and not one has broken down, unlike the piece of crap 790 Adv R - an utter pile of garbage. Well - not to ride (it's phenomenal) but the one in our group has had faulty brake lights, fuel sender, a water leak, and the well known exploding clutch that KTM still deny is an inherent problem, and most recently skipped a few teeth on the timing chain.
You won't go wrong with the T700

Yeah apparently the CP2 engine that’s also in the Mt07 is literally the most reliable engine currently for sale, was reading a report somewhere recently.Oh, and not one has broken down, unlike the piece of crap 790 Adv R - an utter pile of garbage.
