Just bought a new helmet, for my new (to me) road bike.

Also have a dirt bike and all the gear for tracks and for green lanes

I admit I also have the gear for past hobbies that I might do again (kayaking, jet skiing etc) but as I find there is no room in a 2m wardrobe in my office I'm wondering whether to stick another in the garage but I'm concerned that the cold / damp might affect it.

It is an attached garage with no leaks but being unheated it isn't as dry as the house.

Dehumidifier for a £100 would sort any dampness worries.

All over the house, mainly the spare room, downstairs loo and garage, I have 3 sets of leathers, 5 helmets, 3 sets of textiles, 2 mesh jackets, 2 sets of waterproofs, 3 sets of boots and god knows how many gloves and neckwarmers, I really must have a clear out sometime as its getting ridiculous.

All in the garage, we are in a town house so its vented and although not warm, is well vented, all my kit lives in there.

We have a stable block but no horses, so mostly in the tack room.

I think a skip / ebay would help the most but with young kids I'm never sure what will happen next - took them canoeing last year and they loved it.

As many of you are storing in the garage, it seems I might be worrying about nothing then.

That biker tidy looks worthwhile too.

Bought one a year ago, very pleased with it.
Standard floor standing https://www.get-tidy.com/floor-standing, good for two jackets and trousers, one-piece suit, under garments, two pairs of boots, three helmets and gloves.

Biker Tidy for me too, bought one about 6 years ago at the Bike Show NEC, sits in the back room downstairs. Kit all together and dry - Oh my lad also rides a bike and we manage to get his kit on too.

I really like storing my gear in an IKEA kallax unit- the perfect size for a helmet and with a small fabric box I can put gloves, neck warmers etc in. Jackets are just on a hanger and boots with my other shoes. Granted I don't have one piece leathers though. And trousers can be awkward to store as they don't fold well with the armour in them.

Have 2 biker tidy racks in the garage ( 2 peoples gear). Garage is attached, dehumidified and heated over winter months...just to keep it at 8-10 deg ish so its not damp in there.

I decided to make my own rack in my spare room. Then realised how cheap buying a ready made one!!

Mines all in the garage. It's detached from the house but no heating

I bought one of those dedicated motorcyle ones. Holds 2 lids, 2 lots of boots my leathers and textiles

Never had any damp issues. Only the leathers being a bit cold this time of year initially putting them on

Keep the bike kit away from the house if I can help it

Currently in the attached garage. Will be moving in the next few months and it will probably come inside to my office.

All my stuff is in the garage. I bought a couple of sets of shelving and fitted a pole between them to hang the leathers and textiles. Works well and has space for plenty of space of other stuff. I don't live anywhere were cold and damp is an issue so can't comment on that.

As my garage is not connected to the house, even with a dehumidifier and small heater to keep above freezing i wont' keep gear in the garage so it's stored in my wardrobe and under the bed. takes up room but a most men we don't need a new suit every day wink

I have a Biker Tidy in my home office. Good piece of kit except the crappy plastic crocodile clips on some of the hangers.....
You guys who keep kit in the garage must permanently reek of mildew!!
