Can anyone share their experiences on the above?

According to Waze, going from a couple of miles south of Croydon to Paddington area would take around 50 mins even in rush hour. Is this correct?

This would be a huge time and cost saver for me so I’m giving it some serious thought.

Do people find it too stressful doing this sort of commute?

Can anyone confirm how long it takes?

Thanks in advance smile

Compared to the tram, it's probably a life saver laugh

I live in Wallington, and depending on which office I'm in that day travel to Mayfair, Paddington and Notting Hill so feel fairly well qualified to answer.
In short, yes the journey can be done in about 50 mins and 95% of the time there's plenty of parking available when you arrive as well (permit is £100 for the year).

The route I take is through Mitcham-Tooting-Wandsworth Common- across Battersea Bridge - through Kensington and Chelsea and then up through Hyde Park. For the most part I would say the commute is even fairly enjoyable and is usually moving. This is now my consistent route having tried many options over the last year. Not the shortest, but on a bike I rarely get held up on this route.

Travel time does depend on the time of day you leave, for me around 8am is still ok but any later and you get stuck in the school run with suicidal mums performing kamikaze manoeuvres all over the shop in their 4x4's. That being said, no matter how bad it gets, even with flooding, diversions, contra flows, accidents etc. it never takes more than an hour. It can be easily done in 40mins or less with very little traffic in very early morning or evening.

Afternoon,
I commute from Streatham to Paddington, usually door to desk in around 40 mins with the on road time about 35 mins (can be nearer 30 mins on school holidays)

I do leave about 7am and head home about 4.30pm if that gives any indication too, any later and the journey time increases.

If you work in Paddington Central, plenty of underground secure parking (if employer allows). I would think about parking on the street/bays with anything desirable though!

Good advice

I worked there for 2 years, if you are in Paddo Central you don't need your employers permission, just tell the gate who you work for and there is a huge area at the back of the plot, stairs lead up and out to where the Nuffield Gym is and the area at the back is an open space bike park under the flyover, my Hyperstrada and Multi both lived safely under there with a disc lock ....
