Portimao trackdays?
Discussion
I’ve been about 4 or 5 times, first one with (now defunct) Racedays and all the other times with No Limits.
One of the best circuits anywhere with great variety of corners and hills (and quite a lot together where the corner continues over a crest). Not especially easy to learn so therefore good for a 3 day event.
Circuit is half hour drive from the coast up in the hills and weather therefore can be challenging in the shoulder seasons due to Atlantic weather systems. I’ve been in February where it’s been glorious and March & April where it’s been very changeable / proper wet. Mid Summer has potential to be proper hot! I guess you’re looking at the later ones as the early ones have sold out but late Autumn should be a better bet than Spring.
The other aspect is Portimaō is a proper holiday resort so the social aspect is lovely with beach walk and a multitude of restaurants and cafés to chill out in although they’ve just introduced the option of a hotel next door to the circuit for the Neanderthal type geezers....
I’ve booked again this year for the end of May as the ancient R1 doesn’t fair too badly what with the fast run onto the main straight.

29th-31st? See you there.
That run onto the main straight is phenomenal.I haven’t been there with NL but I have been with redline. I’m hoping NL are a lot better.
It’s a difficult circuit to be fast on(for me anyway). Everyone says it’s a rollercoaster, they are right. Lots of blind crests and blind entries. In other words, it’s awesome!

Facilities are great, security is good with one manned entry and exit. The circuit is a little bumpy in a couple of places but it doesn’t detract from the track. I found it a fairly intimidating place but who doesn’t love that!? As MT says above, the last 2 right handers onto the main straight are epic. The very last right is way north of 100mph even on my 600.
Watching from the pit wall is awesome too as the sound reverbs off of the enormous grandstand on the main straight.
Portimao itself is a s
thole in my opinion. We walked from the hotel to the main strip for some food and got offered drugs 5 times within 100yds. If you like coke though, you won’t have to try hard to find it!
The fuel isn’t cheap and you’ll have to do about a 10 mile round trip to get some. Not an issue but something to bare in mind.
Anyone who does trackdays needs to go there at least once. We went in April last year and it was over 30 degrees everyday. I’m also going at the end of May and expect it to be hotter.
As far as NL go, I did parcmotor with them last September. They are exceptionally good at what they do.

See you there then! Will look out for a bloke called Adam on a 600 that ‘looks’ like it’s worth trying to sell him class A’s.

Excellent circuit, went the first time when NL were the very first public TDO to visit, circuit is immense, great layout, technical enough to be interesting without being nadgery, great facilities, still modern now, eleven years on, we are heading back in April for the 5th time and it will mark eleven years since that very first No Limits visit in 09.
Praia Da Rocha where the two hotels are Jupiter and Tivoli Marina are both good hotels, the strip does have a slightly seedier side but there are a good range of restaurants and you can have a really good trip.
Go enjoy

did NL with them last october and VERY glad I took wets with me as we had a day and a half with a wet track.
Now this worked in my favour as it was only me and some scottish lads and a few others that fancied it so we had our own private track !!
one thing to note ... they have the timing gear on the first morning to get the groups sorted then the gear "magically breaks" so there are no further timings so dont get in the wrong group on day 2 as there is no way back !!

I have had timings available all the way until lunchtime on day 3 on all my NL trips, including Portimao in Nov, maybe they did have an issue with it !!Now this worked in my favour as it was only me and some scottish lads and a few others that fancied it so we had our own private track !!

Everyone has pretty much covered it, weather can be changeable depending upon the time of year. The circuit and facilities are second to none, the circuit does have a pool in the paddock albeit a small one!
I've been twice now, once with FE and once with NL, the track itself is immense and will easily take you a day to two days to learn, big, fast, blind crests, corners, off camber it's got everything, when I went with FE the first day it rained for most of the day, to assist in learning the track they sent us round in the hire cars. I'd suggest watching some YouTube videos to at least learn which way it goes, they do nothing for the elevation changes.
The town is like a hot Blackpool, it's a bit of a dump but caters for all tastes, if you're with NL the Marina is a nice spot.
Enjoy!
