Hello

As the piaggio mp3 500 is liable for the congestion charge, has anyone out there every had to pay the charges?

I've read that the congestion cameras only take your front number plate, so in theory you should never have to pay.

Can anyone who rides an mp3 actually confirm this from personal experience? Also any problems with using bus lanes or parking in solo motorcycle bays as they aren't classed as motorcycles.

Thanks in advance.

But I think there are different models. Isn't the LT version classed as a tricycle and therefore is meant to be under 2m in length? It has wider spaced front wheels which allow it to be driven on a car licence I think.

Anyway, I wouldn't risk relying on cameras being forward facing.

Thanks. Yes the ones I'm referring to are over 2m in length and do fall under the congestion charges. There is a 300 cc version which they don't charge, but I'm interested in the 500cc model.

I always see them in the congestion zone, be great to hear from anyone with personal experience regarding the charges. I go into the zone about 3 times per week - if I was to only get charged now and again it wouldn't be too bad. Not every time though.
