F*cking sh*t.

Well, f*cking amazing when you're buying a policy because of their prices buy woe betide if you're involved in an accident. Getting any answer or information out of them appears to be literally impossible. After four months, they have only returned one of 20+ phone calls, all I get from email is "We'll get back to you.".

I know this'll get canned for naming and shaming but hopefully enough of you will read it and take heed before thinking of using them.

Have you complained/escalated it? Very disappointing though, they're good otherwise, but that's very often true.

bemoto is a broker. They put you in contact with the insurance company.

Who is your underlying policy with? Contact them.

However if you feel you must complain about them, then go to the FCA.

All in their terms of business - https://www.bemoto.uk/uploads/values/2837/tob-2019...

I've had several mates telling me how great they were to deal with, how easy to setup a multi bikes policy, how great it was to speak to them as they all seemed to be bikers.

I have managed to speak to them once. They never returned my calls when they said they were going to and when I managed to finally get an offer, the details were wrong. Again impossible to change anything as couldn't get hold of them.

So that's a no from me. The usual suspects (Aviva, Axa (for the car), Carole Nash) are always easier to get in touch with in my experience. Not the cheapest but there you go.

I have just taken out a policy with them. Carole Nash wanted £418 to renew and BeMoto wanted £188 so it seemed a no brainer. The policy is with Axa so let’s hope I don’t have to claim

I'm insured with them on both my bikes. Only heard until now good things about them

Was the cheapest on my renewal for a multi bike policy and seemed biker orientated when talking to them

Yeah, like I said, before the incident I'd have given them full marks for pricing and customer service but that's dropped off a cliff now. I literally can't talk to anyone. Today alone, I was told someone would definitely, definitely, definitely contact me before the end of the day. They didn't.

Heh, just read your review on Trustpilot. The utter buggers, hope they take notice and do something.

If you state that you wish to make a complaint they will be obligated to run it under the FCA's dispute resolution rules.

Most companies want to resolve complaints within 3 business days because of the way the rules are written. It may get things moving for you.

Don't go to the FCA if it isn't resolved, go to the Financial Ombudsman Service, which after 3 business days you have the right to do (they will advise you of this right in their letter/email to you).

Actually you should wait to contact the FOS until after the complaints procedure has been fully finished, usually 8 weeks iirc, but it varies depending on their policies.

Still correct though, I'd ring and make a complaint and not get off the phone until I spoke to someone.

The rules changed a couple of years ago. You now get FOS referral rights after your Summary Resolution Communication (3 business days) rather than having to wait the full 8 weeks.

Interestingly, I've just got off the phone after one of the directors called me to talk about my experience. He was incredibly apologetic and sincere, and fair play for making the call. He's given me assurances that he's going to look into it personally and get back to tomorrow.

Naturally, I'm going to use them again after this horror story but I have to give them due credit for that response.

As nice and clearly disarming as he was...

What did he believe was the reason behind over twenty calls not being returned by his staff?

Do you think it's acceptable,as someone at directorship level, he couldn't account for it?

Just got off the phone with him, so at least he kept that promise. He updated me in the situation and the process from this point on, which was satisfactory.

I pushed on why my queries went unanswered and he freely admitted there was no excuse and it was extremely poor. I told him I wouldn't be using them again because of this experience, which he accepted and understood.

It all went as well as expected.

Yeah fair enough.

It's good you got to express yourself, and fair play to you for sticking by your guns.

If he's any good perhaps he won't let it happen to others.

Did you get all this sorted out in the end?
