Whether it brings up a code or not you’ll want it mapping for sure as the fuelling will be out.

My friend done this to his GSX1000 F, I THINK he fitted K5 Thou headers onto his, kept the stock end can thou. Still sounds fab.

Combined with a Rapid Bike module it went from around 140RWHP to around 150RWHP, cant remember exactly why but the dyno man couldn't get the fuelling spot on with the Rapid Bike and the factory support was useless, so he removed it in the end and had the ECU flashed, that gave him a similar end result with a much smoother throttle response.

Its a lovely thing to ride thats for sure.

I dropped Hilltop a quick email last week as I am considering fitting a set of headers to my S1000R and wanted to know how it would affect the bike and what they could do to programme the bike to accommodate the removal of the cat.

I got an excellent reply from them within 20 minutes of me sending my email to them along with a handy FAQ attached to their response too.

Rather handily Bennetts Rewards have a 15% discount code with PerformancePartsLTD at the minute too.

Hilltop have a questionable rap sheet of late. Maps not actually being done, poor running etc.

The guys on the zzr1400 forum used to use them a lot and now no-one will touch them.

Plenty of other reputable tuners around the area

Does this invalidate insurance as the bike is no longer road legal ???

I have a hilltop remap on my MV. I had it dynoed at my local bike shop a couple of months before and again after.

I fit a full system and new filter to my bike, and tried a piggy back tuner, was never really happy with the results, the idle was all over the place from time to time, random surging. The throttle sensitivity even worse than standard.

I had the bike flashed by Hilltop, took it for a test ride and it was just sooooo much better, perfect fueling throughout the rev range and idles like a standard bike. Picked up 12 bhp at the back wheel on the hilltop dyno.

I was present 100% of the time whilst the ECU was flashed at Hilltop. I sold the piggy back tuner on ebay, a few weeks later was in my local bike shop for some other work and had it run up their dyno. Outright power figures were a few bhp different, but still showed a 10bhp uplift over the previous baseline, and perfect fueling all the way through.

18 months later my bike continues to run the same, absolutely perfect fueling, throttle response and just over 10bhp more at the back wheel compared to standard.

I would certainly use Hilltop again.....
