I need a tail pack, just jumper, trainers, lunch so 20L should be more than enough - that doubles as a back pack

I'm a fair weather biker so no need for the best

I've had a quick look, any reason not to buy:

Fieldsheer £20

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIELDSHEER-MOTORCYCLE-T...

Slightly concerned I can't find any info on it

Otherwise there seems to be plenty of Oxford ones on ebay although they are mostly 30L

This looks very similar to one that I still have and used for years. Fits a good amount inside, simple bungee fixings and my one was a solid construction. I'm loathe to buy anything Frank Thomas branded though...

Spend the extra on a Kriega, you won’t regret it.

As above, buy Kriega - products they sell really are next level in terms of quality, feel and overall design!
And you buy it once!

I've got a Lomo. Totally waterproof & seems very sturdy: https://www.lomo.co.uk/acatalog/drybag-daypack.htm...

Whilst I have a fair bit of Kreiga stuff they are definitely not buy it once equipment. I will always use their stuff but they are not infallible. On riding from Plymouth back to Gods Own in a downpour I found all my clothing absolutely soaking wet when I got home. I had a problem finding why so did a few tests. To my surprise I found that the outer skin, rightly or wrongly was not waterproof, I then found a small area of the inner lining had lost its waterproof properties and this was the problem. I claimed a new one under the warranty to be told it was considered a consumable item. Good stuff? Yes infallible no!. Luckily I was returning home and not on the start of my three week tour.

I used the word cheap in the title which rules out Kriega - frankly a £5 backpack taped to the bike would do all I need.

I did however take on board the suggestions and bought the first Oxford bag ending on Ebay.

It will be a surprise as the seller didn't know the size / model

laugh

If it's too big I'll stick it back on there.

eBay roulette, always a good laugh. Let us know how you get on.

I've been tempted by a couple of lomo bags, but haven't got around to it yet, at £20-odd it seems like great value for occasional trips.

Yes I've got two jackets enroute too.

The Lomo do seem good value, I think the Oxford retails around £80
