As the title suggests where is the best place to buy new kit for myself and my wife in or near Edinburgh?

Also what would you consider the best medium priced range?

Cheers

Saltire motorcycles are just off Gorgie rd.

Plenty of stuff there to try.

A bit further over to Glasgow/Hamilton and you have J&S and infinity that have lots of selection.

Not sure if there is a J&S or infinity closer to you.

Frank Thomas clothes are decent for the price, my mrs has them.

Everyone will have different opinions on what they like, most important thing for me is that everything fits correctly.

Kind of subjective re price and quality.

I use BMW stuff, but it can be pricey. Dalkieth hold plenty stuff in stock. I have used the lot, and nothing beats it.

Next best is Weise , by a long chalk. Two Wheels might have some in stock, but they also have lots of other decent makes.

Surprisingly, Harley Davidson make some pretty good stuff, but it is a limited market, obv smile

the internet

then you can try on in the privacy of your own home, sit on your bike as long as the stuff doesn't get dirty to check it fits

then you won't have anyone huffing, puffing and tutting at the length of time you're taking to try and get it right like happened to me the other week when buying new helmet in a shop - my head I'll take as long as i fking want arrogant 70 somethings who've done it all

Not this.

Support your local shops and try stuff on properly to make sure you are happy with it. Especially helmets. Shops are happy for you to sit on bikes whilst trying stuff on.

And whatever you do don't be the dick that tries on loads in the shops then buys it cheaper from a internet retailer.

I think most would agree for helmets but it helps that a lot of shops carry a good range of them apart from xlite annoyingly.

I have mainly dainese stuff because of an amazon sale a few years ago where bought a load online and returned what I didn't want for free. Fit is good so I have just bought more online.
It's easy to buy CE rated jeans online and return them in the unlikely case of them not fitting because their sizing is similar to jeans.

Recent threads about quality and CE ratings has caused me to look at revit and furygan who are more transparent on materials and testing but they harder to find in shops in North East Scotland.
Trial and error online vs long journeys to shops...

Depending on your size, I'm local and have some very good, barely used Halvarssons textiles I'll be looking to move on soon.

Drop me a pm if you like.

(Apologies if you cant promote stuff for sale)

Otherwise, agree Dalkeith mottorrad are very good.

I've bought most of my kit from Motolegends in guildford who are also very good.
