Never ridden one although I fancy it.
Plenty of favourable write ups from the States where the bike makes more sense and BMW seem to fix problems with less aggro then the in UK.
One thing I do remember was a guy who couldn’t move his bike on. Independents not interested and likewise BMW even though the mileage and servicing was spot on. They knew it would be around the showroom a long time.
If it’s at the right price then it has to be done. I might even buy it from you in a years time ... at the right price!

Never say never
I rode the bike at the weekend, I didn't find any of the issues Tom mentions other than it was difficult to initiate a fast start from standstill, the clutch and the throttle felt like they were connected to two different bikes. Rode it for over an hour. Felt better the longer I spent on it.
It's a 2018 bike with 3k miles on it. It's a cosmetic write-off from a low-speed spill, I rode it post-spill and it's literally just scratches and digs, no other damage. I know the owner well, he looks after his bikes meticulously. Waiting to see what the buy-back price is, that will seal it one way or another for me. If I sell it again it will be way under book price.
I genuinely think he dropped it because of the tyres, it's got Bridgestones on and it felt far too eager to tuck when cornering. I've read on a bike-specific group that lots of other people have found the same, cured by a change to PR5s.
I might be scaremongering but I heard when at somewhere BMW'ee that there were some recent gearbox issues (uncertain if they meant recall or borkage) and a backlog of bikes waiting for some new gearbox or gearbox part to fix it. But then if it's a recall it'll be fine. I'm sure owners clubs are talking about it if it's a thing.
Never ridden one, the K1300 was big enough, and I don't want a reverse gear :P
EDIT: Oh, here we are:

when i was looking to replace the ZZR i did consider this model
i went to look in Mcr and was told that they couldn't sell me one as there was a world wide recall for a gear box issue that was around Christmas 2019
not sure if its been resolved
anyway long story short now have a new ninja 1000 sx did consider 1250 rs but too expensive in the end
