Hello guys I have a quick question that some of you might help me out on.

I had a GSXR, which I gained 1 year NCB on that, but before the year was completed I got another bike, and got an insurance for that bike, so from the 15th of July 2018 to the 15th of July 2019 I had an insurance for the GSXR, from the 15th of May 2019 till now I have another insurance for my S1000R, which I have not used any NCBs on as I had not yet completed 1 year when i got this insurance.

Now obviously I did it again and bought a different bike, but have not insured yet, and have not cancelled my old insurance because I have not sold the bike yet, the difference between 1 year and 2 year NCB is £150 for my new bike.

My question is if I wait for this insurance to run out the 1 year, can I use a 2 year NCB even though for 2 months I was running 2 insurances, so theoretically I don't really have 2 year NCB right? Should I just do the new insurance with my old 1 year NCB and cancel this one?

Thanks

Not sure if I'm understanding it correctly but if you have two seperate 1 year NCB I don't think you can add them together and make 2 years NCB if thats what you're trying to do?

Yes kinda but they only overlapped for 2 months, as in they weren't running at the same time for one year, when the second started there was only 2 months left on the first.
Thaths why im asking maybe 2 months is ok lol.

Did you have 2 bikes at the same time? Or did you just start a new policy when you sold the 1st bike and bought the 2nd?

You can’t combine the ncb of two concurrent policies.

I’m a bit confused but you can only build and use NCB on one vehicle at a time, in consecutive order.

What you’re theoretically trying to do is use it on both vehicles at the same time, concurrently.

You will need to ask the insurer of the GSXR for your proof of NCB and then use this on the policy for the new bike.

You can’t add them both together.

You can't take 2 x one years NCD from different overlapping policies and "merge them" into a single 2 years NCD.

You have 2 x 1 years NCD not 1 x 2 years NCD.

Sorry.

All the above assumes the current policy runs without claim for the full year.
