Despite the world seemingly coming to an end I just bought a new Tuono Factory. Timing wise I probably screwed up and even though I got a “good” deal I suspect in a few weeks or months the dealer would have been so desperate to sell anything that a few more thousand dollars could have been shaved from the price. Whatever. I could do with cheering up.

Last few months have been a bit hard. Couple of (not yet resolved) health issues. To help I’ve changed my lifestyle somewhat. No booze, no sugar, no caffeine. Lost some weight and overall feeling a bit fitter (but not sure yet of the impact on the health front).

Time for another new bike to put a smile on my face.

Tuono complete overkill of course. Who needs or can use all the power on the road? Not me at least. And the range is dire and no fuel gauge. But it will put a smile on my face. And perhaps I might even get to master the dark art of wheeling (by accident if not by design!)

Only problem is that my daughter has giving me a stinking cold and I’m not sure I will be well enough to pick it up tomorrow!

Did you trade the GSXR in or keeping both?.

Traded the GSXR. I though about keeping both but didn’t think I would use the Suzuki if I had the Tuono as too similar. Having more than one bike is good but perhaps I need to look at something completely different like a cruiser or cafe racer.

£2k. With an amazing bit of man maths that was less than the “discount” on the Tuono so helped the pain of the swap...

Hopefully you’ll be well enough to pick it up.
For the first time ever I collected my new 18 tv4 factory having never ridden one before. Be prepared to have a permanent grin attached to your face😉
You really can use all the power, some of the time, and electronics stop it wheelying everywhere.
And don’t worry, you’ll love it. The best sports bike in the world for the road.

You'll have loads of fun on that. I found mine used a bit of oil initially and it does use a tiny bit vs my gsxr

Reset your trip computer each time you fuel and it'll come on reserve like clockwork about 110 miles. You'll get another 20 safely on reserve. It's like a fuel gauge for me

I'm sure you'll have lots of fun on that. Happy to give feedback on things I've learnt once you're settled in with it

I just read up on this bike. What an awesome fabulous piece of kit. I would love an Italian bike but there is no way my riding is in anyway capable of getting the best of out it.
Enjoy it OP and best of luck with your heath recovery.

Thanks. I’ve already decided to make sure I fill up half way around my rides and then again at the end. Just in case. Although I try to only use 98 Ron fuel sometimes in the more out of the way places they only have 95. Any issues if you can’t find super unleaded?

I wouldn't know what super is like... I'm too tight

I've tracked and toured both my 16 and 19

Upto 26,000 miles in total from the first and second one with no issues so far

Does it actually make any difference whether you put 98 or 95?
Maybe in hot climates 98 makes a bit of sense for the ignition retardation or something.
Anyway, I always put BP98 or Shell VP100 in my bikes. The price difference to 95 is pretty tiny.
