What with the lockdown I have been watching Chops along with 44 Teeth and anything else which keeps me sane. His recent purchase of the Hypermotard had me off to fleabay to look at prices, and they seem reasonable? Anyone had one in here and are they any good? I am guessing ducatis of this era are semi sorted for reliability and it'll only be a toy.

Something like this...https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-Hypermotard-1100-Evo-SP/313030948599?hash=item48e21936f7:gredfacenkAAOSwk~pecM7E

Cracking bikes, there is a stunner for sale on the iconic bikes website, seller is one of the ducati forum regulars, they have become a common 2nd bike for the ducati sports bike brigade, I ran one, although not the 1100 for 2.5 years as my commuter through 2 winters and 16000 miles, it never missed a beat, great fun.

That generation shares a lot with other bikes in the range, all pretty reliable. The engine is a real peach, and it apparently lives up to the "hyper" bit of the name through the twisties. biggrin

Interesting stock with that dealer. I wasn't aware of the Monster 768 'Art' bikes. Had to look up the Pantah versions and disappointed they're not black and gold with a tiger's head somewhere.

I have had 1100 for ten years it is a bit agricultural although the motor is superb .huge fun without going silly speeds ,handles well lovely wheels and forks. the heads can have issues with flaky paint

great bike for a quick fun blast

Personally prefer the HyperStrada. Little less frenetic to ride but able to be the hooligan when required. Hyper M seating position is just too "over the front" for my preferences....

Sadly, the people I know who ran HyperM's either crashed them (looped wheelies) or sold on because a crash was imminent!!

Because....

When people dream of being Ruben Xaus..

When people realise they're not Ruben Xaus...

In fairness, a not mangled bike is not very 'Xaus'....didn't they run out of fairings with him?

only thing Id say is near £7k for a 17k miles bike seems a lot to me. whereas you could get a much newer 821 or 939 for not that much more

for ref I just bought a 939SP for £9k, 1 owner, 7k miles

they are great bikes, v characterful and fast enough !

Love my Hypermotard. In fact, loved it so much I got two. Well strictly speaking I just kept my first one when I got a new one last year.

Perfect duo to pop out on them if a mate is visiting. As folks suggested earlier, not really an ideal only bike as its such a compromise - lack of wind protection, small tank, limited luggage, etc. For the Lakes they are an absolute blast.

My hyper the day I traded it back for my Multi, should have kept it, was the only time I ever rode with the panniers, the screen on the hyperstrada was just enough ....

Lies! Not showing for us, Google photos sucks as sharing photos on forums. It is possible but a bit convoluted to embed the image, you can post a shared linked.

Plagiarised from Google support forum

That case, you cannot get a fixed direct link in any way while logged in.
Like as an answer from Rinus, the link obtained by "Copy image URL" in the right-click menu after preview (= expand one image) will be invalid after a while. So, need some steps as follow.

1) Make a shared album and add a photo to it.
2) Create a shared link of it.
3) Logout or use another browser to open the shared link.
4) Get a link by "Copy image URL" in the right-click menu after expanding view.

You will get the link such as format below (shorter than a link by Rinus)
If you delete a shared folder so a direct link to the photo is deleted too. Last of "=w1236-h825" is size, you can change. If you change it to "=d", it will be original size stored on the cloud (=downloading size).

Hah, that works. :-)

That is a decent amount of luggage space!
