Weird one that I can't seem to figure out on Google, but my dad has agreed to buy a 1990 CBR600F, looks totally standard and unmolested, but oddly it has 2 x single round headlights and I cannot find any other pictures of one like this?

Anyone know about these?

Can you not post the pictures of what your dad is buying?

This is what comes up on Google when you search 1990 CBR600F:

I didn't know if it might be an import and made for some other market (a bit like the Australian Ducati 916)

Wow! That does look weird, must be some sort of import.. Seem to remember Africa twins of this age in similar colours, first thing I thought when I saw the twin headlights.

Bike looks tidy though

Ive a feeling that was a Powerbronze fairing kit, but maybe wrong.

It always puzzled me as to why people shoved those Powerbronze kits onto their bikes.

If that is aftermarket it was very well done! Cannot find anything similar on google images!

Yes, thats an aftermarket fairing for sure, lovely bikes the early CBRs, I had an 89 FK model which is the same spec as the Benetton coloured bike your looking at.

Thankyou guys, It certainly looks pretty tidy in the pictures he sent through and the fairing looks very well fitting for aftermarket.

Odd choice for someone to do at the time though, as to me it makes it look older than the original

I think were cheaper than OE, so got used instead.

I had a cbr600 with an aftermarket fairing with the twin headlights similar to that. It’s definitely not standard. It had the fairing when I bought it and even When I crashed mine I bought another one the same.

Morette did a lot of double headlight conversions for bikes with a single headlight

Eg ; Ducati 900ss/sl

It's the 24 hour racer look, twin headlights for riding through the night.

You have the lamps set up to show you the track ahead when you are cornering, not on the straights; you can't do that with a single headlight.

Aftermarket nose cowl. Take it off and I bet it’s fibreglass.

Powerbronze for sure, Endurance range I think - from a time before they started making carbon look crap.

Nicely made, I had one on a YPVS back in 1988 as the previous owner had wrecked the original fairing. At the time I thought it was far better looking than the plain square headlight of the original.

They also offered similar full fairing to fit to 350N models using the single round headlight eek

From memory I think these were Cibie lights and were pretty good. Later ones had smaller lights.

Yep. It used to be very common to see these on GPz750s and the like.

Ride a stock one at night and you can see the attraction of twin Cibie's warming up your wiring loom.

To be fair, do remember mine having a couple or relays - guess not everyone bothered to wire them in.

I fitted one of those fairings to a cbr600fl for a mate who had dropped his bike , they fitted quite well with a bit of fettling around the edges .
