What are you using as a 'dash cam' or helmet cam?

Mainly for insurance purposes but might want to do a vlog or 2, so the option for an external mic would be nice.
I did have a Drift Ghost XL once but it was plagued with issues so I got a refund on it. Other than a Go pro for £££, are there any good alternatives?
I vaguely remember Techmoan recommending the Git Up 2 or something

DJI OSMO Action is a good alternative to a GoPro and they recently had an offer where it was £220 for a load of extras like 3 batteries, various grips. Think they've now just got their charging bundle on sale for c.£300I did have a Drift Ghost XL once but it was plagued with issues so I got a refund on it. GoPro currently have £100 off their Hero 8 which is a damn good deal.
If you just want something cheap to record just the footage (no app to edit, snap together footage, or grade) than I think anything that shoots 4k with a screen will work.
I'm in a similar position, I have an older GoPro (3 or 4 maybe?) and while it done the job, to get the right position it needed to go on a adjustable bracket which left it sticking out from the side of the helmet a bit. I'd rather something that can sit closer to the helmet.
Front runner for me is the Ghost X, the only thing that has held me back from ordering is the patchy reliability. The latest GoPros appear to use the same mounting system so it'll be sticking out, plus the external mic input needs an adapter. I hadn't looked at the DJI camera but they look similar to the GoPro, just a little more expensive.
If only the Ghost had a better reputation, I'd even be happy to pay an extra few quid for one if it was better built. Tough decision.

My mate, who does some funny youtube videos with his daughter, recently got a Insta 360 one R

I think it was pricey and no idea about mounting but some cool effects
