I need some new mirrors - old ones are rusty but work and have a screw on the back to tighten them

I'd like some round bar end mirrors - I have zero experience of them and having had a quick look on ebay they look very similar from £20 to £140+

Many don't seem to have an adjuster to tighten them up - are they just stiff or will they be a disaster ?

Do I need to buy a brand or are the cheaper ones ok ?

It's just for a toy so won't see that many miles / much rain

Surely most bike mirrors don't have a screw to tighten them up either (I assume you mean the mirror on the stalk)

I don't know - mine does, hence the question

I have a pair similar to these, had them on the bike nearly 3 years and they are still great, give good view of the road behind too as they are a little lower. Slight tint to the glass but you barely notice it

It's worth comparing the weight of the original steel bar ends to the presumably alloy replacements. Another solution I have seen is to cut a slot in the bar ends to fit the mirrors and not alter the weight too much. Helps if you have a lathe.

I've got some similar to these. Only been on a week, but seem OK. Tightening the allen screw at the end flares out the in-bar fitting to grip and the clamp mirror/arm clamp part is very adjustable.

I had an issue in that I have aluminium bars and the wall thickness is much greater than steel so I had to file/grind the bars out to size before I could fit them.
