I've just moved a USB charger from the last bike onto my Guzzi

It seemed to work permanently before and last week on a 4hr trip but last night it would only charge my phone when at higher revs

Before I go out with the multi meter is this a known thing to protect the bike's battery if it's low etc ?

My heated grips claim to be intelligent enough to cut out if they detect a weakening battery. Whether your USB charger has this or not it still points to a weak battery?

That's what I'm wondering. It's directly wired to the battery and has a 12-volt outlet which is reading 12.4 (the same as the battery) but the USB reads zero.

I'd love to test it at high revs but I'm not that brave at this time of night.

I connected a battery charger and even with 14.3 volts the USB side isn't working so it's obviously died.

Sounds like cheapo/junk/Chinese components inside being effected by environment: heat/dust/fumes etc.
