Looking at Held gloves – which I’d previously considered the gloves über alles – many are now made in China. However, BKS has branched out from tailor-made leathers into gloves. If these gloves are anything like their leathers, I imagine the quality will be perfection incarnate. But has anyone seen or tried them?

BKS pricing – as ever – is a bit salty. But they are less expensive than some Dainese gloves. Also, I noticed Scott Leathers makes gloves to go with their legendary leathers, and their gloves are priced reasonably: better quality than Alpinestars, yet at half the price?

Gloves are really hard to "hand make" in low volume, hence Hideout and others dont do them, they admit they are just not setup to make something to compete with say a Held glove. I would guess the BKS are bought in and branded, you may find from similar sources to Held and other mainstream brands.

If you want some exotic hand made gloves try Kustani, they are lovely

out of dozens of pairs of gloves over the years, have 5 pairs on the go at the moment, I would say my most worn are either spidi, Held, or Lee Parks deerskin,.

I bought some waterproof Dainese gloves for winter use and they are st, liner has gone, fingers get cold even in temps above freezing, £140 and the biggest waste of money.

I have the BKS summer gloves, that Toseland used, they are brilliant and ‘fit like a glove’ all in one piece after 10+ years

If they're the handmade ones they'll be excellent. However, you may remember that Brian Sansom entered into a deal with I think Frank Thomas for them to make ready to wear stuff under the BKS label. I saw some of these leathers and they were frankly ste.

Tried on some bks race gloves in George whites years ago and they did feel very good quality.

I've got handroids and cant fault them at all (although they do look gimmicky but the cuffs are ace).

These gloves are the handmade ones from Brian Sansom (not the crap from J&S née Frank Thomas):
BKS (Made to Measure) Ltd - gloves

It's shame that J&S can still use the same "BKS" name because it's bloody confusing.

Never tried Held or BKS. Crashed in Alpinestars a bit and they held up ok, and the prices were good. Held were quite popular with people back in the day, didn't know the quality may have gone down now? Plod used some variant of BKS glove?

I’ve had Scott Leathers for years superb quality and fit so is their gloves which have lasted for years.

Last year I bought a new two piece from Scott Leathers and treated myself to new gloves as well the quality is still excellent.

When I bought a Scott Leathers jacket, it was like getting a Porsche for the price of a Peugeot.

It’s useful to know the quality of their gloves is high too; they're half the price of equivalent spec Italian handwear. If you’re not paying for a swish website – and not sponsoring MotoGP riders – I guess you can sell gloves and leathers for a song compared to Astars and Dainese.

I think Hideout (off-the-peg prices similar to posh Italian clobber) and Scott Leathers (somewhat cheaper) ask a lot of questions about the quality of big-name overseas brands. Exceptionally-high quality is a sound reason to buy British.

I'm fancying myself another 1 piece suit to go alongside my Furygan 2 piece, and seeing as though Scott are only half an hour or so from my house I'm going to have a ride over to their place in a few weeks time.
