Fireblade Exhaust servo valve
Discussion
I rode to see my mum earlier, but when I got back on the bike and turned the key I heard clicking from the rear of the engine. It started fine on the button so I rode it home and diverted to a new bike garage.
He diagnosed the exup valve, saying it was trying to work. If you put your finger on the body and switch the ignition on you can feel it clicking.
He said the only thing to do was
1. Deletion of the valve, but meaning new downpipes
2. A whole new exhaust system
3. something else but sounded expensive, can’t remember.
After returning home I have researched it a little on the web. It seems to be a common problem for 929 & 954’s. The cables turn the body one way and the other and maybe the parts wear meaning it can’t do it’s job.
A lot of companies are selling ‘exhaust valve servo eliminators’ for circa 50 quid.
Or I could buy a second hand body with cables for around £80 off eBay.
I have emailed David Silver spares for a price as well.
Has anyone had this issue before and what did you do? Is the ‘eliminator’ only for track use?

Some people lock the valve open and delete the cables so the engine management operates the servo and does not throw a fault.
Really you need a proper diagnosis to determine if the servo is faulty or the valve before spending money. Failing that ask on a Fireblade forum as they are more likely to be familiar with your model.
