The internet is a bad place.......Honda are offering a rather interesting deal on their bikes right now. I've woken up this morning and realised I need a naked 'town' bike in my life.....any views on the Honda vs the other siblings from the other manufacturers?

Ty!

The only thing that triggered me was 'Sports Cafe' when I saw it on Honda's website.

What demographic would one have to be to ride a 'Sports Cafe' motorbike?

Patrons of this establishment?

I would need to see what the aforementioned patrons preferred attire would have a penchant for, and what facial hair they might have to enable an informed decision.

I really like the look of them and I'm very tempted by the R+, I'm hoping they are still doing the 0% offer next year as I don't see much point in changing this year.

‘New touches for 2020 include an all black triple clamp and stem and a new Metallic Matte Ballistic Black headlight surround.‘

Well that’s me convinced.

Where do I sign?

Only if you call 145bhp tame, so about the same as my Z1000SX, which is plenty bloody fast.

They look great

Positive reviews too

I test rode one. Fun but a bit vibey. Might be something you could iron out or ride around... but I just rode the roads I usually ride and it was there some of the time. I'm a bit picky and it annoyed me enough to discount it.

I think I was confusing it with the CB11

I'm very tempted by a CB650R as my next bike- any opinions on the two? I thought the 650 would be plenty powerful enough for everyday riding and a touch lighter too.

Having been riding for 54 years I treated myself to one of these in March to celebrate getting over 18 months of cancer treatment. One week later the lockdown came and it remained in the garage until a week ago. This is a fantastic motorcycle and is just the right weight for someone of my advancing years.
I am also lucky to own a Tenere 700 so between these two bikes I have most of the bases covered.

For those of you mentioning "tingling vibration", I have not found that to be the case, there again my career started with British bikes so I know what real vibration is. Take the plunge, you will enjoy it.

I had the previous version, same engine. Quick and smooth but ultimately boring and needed to be going very fast to be proper fun. The new model looks smart but I can't help but think it'll be a bit dull and characterless.

I thought it was the next version newer engine ?
I had one as a loaner for a few days and really liked it if it feels docile check what riding mode its in it makes a huge difference so much so for courtesy my dealer puts them in rain mode but shows you how to put it into sport mode too but its your choice your risk.
looks great with a smaller exhaust too as it opens up the back wheel without too much noise apparently if you defat it it makes a lovely noise!

I think it looks great, particularly with a different end can. I took one for a test last year as there were some great deals locally. I also booked a test on a 10 year old one at the same time. I was really looking forward to buying a new one but ended up buying the older, previous model, bike. It had a much smoother throttle and I found its handling more confidence inspiring.

It a good looking bike. Just had look at Wheels website, I’m sure other dealers offers are similar. Blimey that’s a tempting deal! £1500 discount deposit contribution, call it what you like, £1000 deposit and £95 a month. So about £4500 for three years riding, that can barely cover the depreciation? Not quite in the old Africa twin league but pretty good.

I was just going on the MCN review, that says it's the same engine, although it could be wrong. Aside from it lacking any character (it's an inline 4 so not surprising) the motor was decent. Sounded nice, plenty of torque but still revved nicely and never used a drop of oil or gave me any issues.

I had a Mivv exhaust on my old model, sounded great and kept the single sided swingarm clear for view still.
