what do you favour?

i tried a pair of dainese axial air as they are 'in' boots which i could also wear under riding jeans, way too hot for leathers on the road here at the moment. they felt fine just really stiff, such that my heel was slipping out of the heel cup when walking which is something i'd right off a pair of shoes for. is this normal until they've broken in?

TBH that sounds like they're too big, if they can move around like that will they stay in place if the worst happens?

I've found both the Alpinestars SMX Plus GTX and Sidi B2 Gore-Tex comfortable to walk around in. I used to use the former every day walking around as an instructor (and crashed in them too...). Alpinestars Supertech are very secure being a two-skin boot but aren't great to walk around in.

TCX RT-Race Pro Air.

Seriously, I have trainers that are less comfy than these. And that is straight out of the box comfort too.

I Have Alpinestars Supertec R and Sidi Vertogo race boots and both I have found are all day comfy. road or track

BUT everyone's feet are different so best bet to see what's at your price and you like the looks and try before you buy,

Another vote for the Alpinestar SMS'x, all day comfy, come in half sizes, and various flavours, I have both Gore-Tex and non, also have a pair of SMX Plus for trackdays along with a pair of Dainese Axial Pro In boots, they aren't quite as comfy as a boot but fit better with my one piece suit designed for boots that go under the shin guard rather than over

not really. They were very snug, just some lift at the rear at the end of a step, a very stiff shoe isn't going to flex with your foot is it?

problem i have is not being able to try stuff on due to lack of dealers, i'm really limited to a-stars or dainese. my commuting boots are the latter and are so comfy i can wear them all day.

A* Supertech R's are my favourites, very comfortable. I've had the original SMX Pluses too which were also brilliant. I found the SMX Plus V2 to be narrower and not as comfortable as a result.

Another vote for SupertechR's
I've had a few brands of boots now, and the supertechR's are easily the most comfortable and you get good feel of the brake through them.
The soles don't last that well though, and I seem to get through 2-3 pairs per year, but for how good they are to ride in, it's worth it

Alpinestars SMX plus. I’ve recently retired a pair of these and tried loads of different boots, I ended up just buying another pair. I couldn't find anything as good. Supertech R’s are supposed to be amazing too but are a bit spendy for me.

Very true, misunderstood your post a bit.

Ended up trying a load of boots and had the same issues’ with each and this concluded it must just be the stiffness. Sat on a bike in the showroom and felt fine onboard, so plumped for the axial Air’s. Mainly as they were €315 delivered from the Netherlands as opposed to double that if bought locally. That same spend Locally would only have gotten me entry level boots, so well happy with the man maths!
