There are a number of bikes I want to own, not because they will be better than what I currently have or because I need them (quite the opposite) but because I lusted after them at one point. Given the small size of the NZ market I will probably have to wait to returning to the UK/Europe to scratch the itch. Some on the list:

Fireblade
R1
748R / 916 / 996 / 998
NC30
Hayabusa

Mmmm...looking at that list I better get a move on whilst I’m still flexible enough to ride sportsbikes.

I would quite like to try a cruiser but wouldn’t really know where to start. Similar with classic bikes. I didn’t start riding until late 90s so don’t know much about bikes before that era (which I think shows in the bikes I’ve listed).

I’m really itching to get hold of a modern bike having always shied away from things like traction, anti wheelie etc.

What I’ve been after for ages is an EBR 1190.

However, I’ve resigned myself to the fact that it’d break, so now looking at Ducati v4s and having an allergic reaction to the prices!

I don’t know why but I’d really love an RC45, I know it will be a let down by modern standards but would love to have a go on one.
A slightly more realistic couple of bikes for my bucket list are a ZXR750 and an RS250.

Only 765RS really.

I am partial to the old Ducati Monster 1100S as well, I do not know why, never ridden one, but I like the looks:

The only other bike I want is a Desmo. Will take a while to save up, and even more to convince the wife.

There seem to be a few, nice RS250s coming to the market in the U.K. (possibly Covid related) if you are interested. I’m trying to prise one out of a Kiwi’s hands at the moment.

R1 either original (although torn between red/white or blue) or latest with the Kenny Robert’s paint scheme. Fireblade either original or one from around 2014 in Repsol colours

I’ve been doing just this over the last three years or so, where the collection has gone from 2 to 9! I’m now maxed out for space. I’ve spent every weekend of lockdown and some evenings working on them and three of them are in various states of disassembly awaiting parts!! It has been a lot of fun smile and now I’m knackered and a little broke but fettling them is good for the ocd and riding them is great for the soul!!

There's dozens and dozens on the lottery win bucket list.

But more realistic I'm looking at a 60s Triumph or a 70s Kawasaki 2 stroke, as a sunny ride out/investment bike.

Honda CB1100R
BMW R100RS

Modern I vary between
Aprillia 1100 Touno factory
Ducati super sport or 959 or v2
Indian flat track
MV Augusta Veloce
Plus a whole of others day by day

But always, always top of the pile this, if I ever have £30k plus lying around!

I've stopped chasing after the bikes off my bucket list.

Unfortunately, each one I have ridden so far has been a bit of a disappointment; what is it they say about never meeting your idols...?
