As per the title I’m lucky enough to be collecting a new bike that has a ‘non std’ paint job. It’s been done by Dream Machine, and it looks top quality and I want to keep it that way without applying the plastic protection film. I want something that will last well and that is easy enough for a non professional to apply. I use a lot of Gyeon products for the car, which need some care to use but I’ve never used anything like a ceramic or other protection, other than wax. All things being equal this will be a keeper and most likely a bit of garage queen with use on warm sunny days only, I have a ‘normal’ bike for bigger miles.

Does it have to be home applied?

I have IGL Kenzo and Eclipse applied to my bike and its unreal stuff, but it can only be applied by an accredited detailer.

There are quite a few polymer coating products now that you can apply yourself, if the paint is new and perfect, you have no correction to do, so much easier. Ive used Gtechniq before after previously having cars done professionally with their products.

Cheers fellas, I’m not averse to having it done professionally but not sure there’s a lot locally to me (Bournemouth, not near the beach!!) I’ll take a look though as it’s a fair shout

Bogie, I’ll look at the GT stuff as well as I didn’t realise they did a DIY version
