Has anyone here tested both?

Considering your average rider, road only, weekend blast and perhaps some long distance: would I be missing out by going with the cooking version rather than full fat Factory?

Cheers

Depends how old the bike is. Key difference for 2019 onwards is the semi active suspension. Seems to work really well on mine as some of the road surfaces here in NZ are pretty rubbish but the Factory seems to ride over them really well. Recently I hired a Caterham and drove over the same roads and was being bounced all over the place.

Pretty sure for the average rider you wouldn’t miss out by much but got to be sure you wouldn’t suffer from envy/regret whenever you saw a factory.

If money were tight I would probably go for a new RR over a secondhand Factory as you get the warranty plus peace of mind over how it’s been used (abused).

Check out the Tuono forums on Facebook as you will get a wider breadth of opinion there (plus might find a bike if looking for secondhand).

Not at all the rr is basically the same Bike and for a normal road rider once set up the Sachs is great. I’ve ridden both bikes the factory feels slighty plusher but in isolation you wouldn’t be wanting with rr

If you buy a new bike you should factor in cost of Akrapovic and ECU flash as standard exhaust looks awful and runs lean. I would rather have the RR and decent exhaust than the Factory and have to stick with the original.

Yep, owned an RR for a few years. Stunning bike, the V4 is the one of the best out there, I definitely prefer it to the Pani... You really don’t need the Factory for the road but it has gold bits and they look cool smile

I did switch to a SuperDuke, which I preferred for big mile crunching around Europe and blatting around bumpy B roads. The Aprilia was a little more focused, better on track and if you’re not spending all day in the saddle.

You wont go wrong with either. I have the factory. I've toured on mine and ridden to both nurburgring a few times and IOM TT

I think the RR is more comfy with the seat but I've not ridden that one

Will get mid 40s mpg. I recommend a powerbronze screen, USB behind the dash and LED lights (£15-20 on ebay)
